They'd complain about being forced to stand around and listen to people talk. Once youve accomplished all of the objectives in single-player, the game just 'ends'. A promising concept ultimately falls flat in the fast-paced, 'I dont have time for reading' first-person shooter genre. It wanted to be Open World Half Life, and if you released Half-Life 2 in 2016 under another name, people would complain that the intro sequence is "boring". Taken by itself, Homefronts campaign is just plain disappointing. I do think the reviews would improve if they'd squash a few niggling design choices/bad compromises like the enemy spawning in the red zones. The game's intro cutscene being 11 minutes long also seems to bore players that just want to shoot things. You can either keep the ripped folder, in case you want to make Homefront work as usual again, or delete it to save space. It will then put all non-essential files in HomefrontTheRevolution\ripped.
There are certain design elements such as its intro where you don't get a gun for 30 minutes, and that gun has crazy high recoil, that rub some FPS fans the wrong way. Paste your Homefront folder path into it and hit enter. It'll likely always be a divisive game, though. Reviews overall are mixed, especially in Russian and Chinese, but the "consensus" on the game has definitely swung positive. It's also worth noting that in English at least, all the top rated reviews on Steam are positive. It's rough around the edges, but the professional reviews that talked about the game being a broken mess don't really apply anymore.

It was released months before it was ready, and at launch was full of game breaking bugs and severe performance issues. It's a Far Cry 3 clone with a bunch of other games like Crysis 2 and Half-Life 2 and STALKER tossed in. The new game (Homefront: The Revolution) has basically nothing to do with the old game. Decent enough on sale for four bucks or something like that. Old game is a Call of Duty clone with a 3-4 hour long campaign.
